A plane carrying the Polish president and other top politicians and military officials were all dead when the plane crashed in western part of Russia on Saturday.

President Lech Kaczynski’s plane tried to land in a dense fog humps treetops and missed the runway about half a mile from the airport in Smolensk, spreading large pieces of fuselage across a clear forest. Moreover, the plane crash came as a smashing blow to Poland, clearing out a big part of the country’s leadership in one burning explosion.

In addition, it has a scary twist, because it happened at the time that Poland and Russia were starting to come to terms with the killing of almost 20,000 members of upper class officer corps in Poland in the same area for the past 70 years.

Moreover, the former President Aleksander Kwasniewski told TVN24 that it is a very dangerous place. He also added that it will leave so much pain with them regarding to what happened with the president. According to the top military official in Russia, the air traffic controllers in Smolensk airport had many times commanded the crew of the plane not to land.

They also informed that it was descending underneath the slide path and advised it reroute to another airport. Furthermore, Lt. Gen. Aleksander Alyoshin, the first deputy chief of the Russian Air Force Staff said that the crew still continued the crash and unluckily, the result was terrible.

In addition, the emergency officials of Russia confirmed that there are 97 people were dead in the accident. They included the national bank’s president, dozen member s of the Parliament, deputy foreign minister of Poland and the chiefs of the navy and the army.

They also included Ann Walentynwicz, aged 80 and the former pier worker whose firing in 1980 set off the Solidarity strike that finally overthrew Communism in Poland.
