Celebrity lawyer Robert Shapiro will represent Lindsay Lohan starting Friday as her former attorney resigned.
Shapiro agreed to be the legal representative of the troubled singer-actress, who is headed to her imprisonment next week for violating probation in her drug case in 2007. Shapiro agrees to stand by Lohan’s side as his legal representative if the actress-singer will fulfill her probation terms and jail period.
According to the lawyer, he was eager to help the actress to get her proper treatment, to achieve her long-term renewal as a person who had serenity in life.
Shapiro said that Lohan suffers from a disease that he was also familiar with. He experienced this thing from his own son who died from drug overdose in 2005. This is the main reason why he wants to help Lohan and give her proper assistance.
On Tuesday, Lohan will start to begin her 90-day sentence in jail.
Shapiro already represents large number of celebrity clients, especially to those who had a drug abused problem, which in need of drug treatment after the death of his son.
He supported the Pickford Lofts sober living facility; it was a treatment center wherein Lohan is temporarily stays.
Holley resigned after he said that Lohan’s punishment was cruel and unjust.
Earlier of this month, Lindsay Lohan, 24 was sentence to jail for 90 days after the judge verify that she violated her probation. She missed seven of her weekly alcohol classes while she was under her probation period since December.
The judge ordered Lohan the moment she had finished her sentence, she will spend three months to go on with her drug testing until her probation ends.
The actress was pleaded guilty; two counts of charges under the influence of cocaine in 2007, two charges of driving under alcohol influence, and one charge for reckless driving. Due to these charges, she was sentence for three years of probation period.
Lohan is required to wear her ankle alcohol monitor since May after she missed one of her court hearing. She said that she lost her passport during her attendance to the Cannes Film Festival in France.
