Motorola declares unexpected earnings

Motorola published they made a surprising earnings during the first quarter of the year, surpassing the Wall Street expectations.

According to Roger Entner, analyst of mobile with Nielsen, Motorola did reasonably well by leaping on the bandwagon of Android. He also added that, while Palm went the itinerary of having their operating system and commencing that with Sprint, right against the iPhone.

In addition, Sanjay Jha, the co-chief executive of Motorola said that last year, they were not transporting any smartphones and their brand is regaining very well. Mr. Jha also said that Motorola transport 2.3 million smartphones in the quarter and that the company hoped to ship 12 million to 14 million handsets by the end of this year.

In the other hand, in Schaumburg in Illinois, the technology company reported the net profit of $69 million, or three cents per share, compared with a loss of $231 million, or 13 cents per share, in the same time a year before.

The income of $5 billion for the first quarter was six percent less than from the last year’s quarter, but the little regression in three years. Moreover, for the last two years, the company has been working to overturn its chances by creating a product that grabbing the attention of the consumers.

Furthermore, as sales of the Razr fallen sharply in year 2006, it learned that consumers were unpredictable and the cell phone business was as sensitive to tidal styles as the fashion industry. According to the industry experts and analysts, the efforts of the company now seem to be paying off. Mr. Jha said that the early approval of Motorola with Android helped the company contour its efforts.
