MADISON, AL – Later Friday evening, officials from Huntsville Hospital verified that a ninth grade student passed away after he was shot within Discovery Middle School. On Friday afternoon, Todd Brown, a 14-year-old ninth grader, was shot in the ninth grade hallway. The suspected gunman is in fact, also a ninth grader and he is in the custody.
Brown passed away at Huntsville Hospital. Previously Brown’s family was at the hospital together with Madison School officers. Madison City Schools Superintendent Dr. Dee Fowler stated that the shooting incident took place on 1:45, through a class shift in the hallway of the ninth grade. Fowler said that the person shot Brown was also a ninth grade student. A school resource official hurried to see what took place alongside with a school nurse. Emergency people acted in response to the school right away, and attended with the harmed student by 1:48 in the afternoon. From Madison Fire Station 2, the rescuers just came across the road from the school.
Also, Dr. Fowler reported that the school instantly resorted into an emergency course of action they wished they did not use. The staff went back to the scene to make sure that everybody was safe. The victim was then rushed into the hospital. Emergency personnel had by now alarmed the trauma team of the hospital.
After determining that the school was safe, the school began to discharge students to parents around 2:15 in the afternoon.
The shooting accused was already in the custody, but police did not give his name. Police Chief Larry Muncey requested everybody to continue praying for Todd Brown.
Madison Mayor Paul Finley advised public to pray for the Brown family, with the students from Discovery Middle School. HE added up that city leaders will maintain to make an effort all throughout the weekend with counselors and local churches just to make certain students obtain the psychotherapy support they need.
