President Obama

An organization representing 300 big corporations pleaded the Congress and President Barack Obama to cancel a prerequisite of the health care that induced extensive charges over large companies.

AT&T and Caterpillar are one of those companies that want to repeal the redevelopment of health care program. The organization, the American Benefits Council, said the prerequisite-which increases the deductions of the tax for their retired employees- will deal an important impact to company profits and will suppress companies from hiring more workers.

According to the AT&T, they are charged $1 billion last week because of the prerequisite of the health care program. In the other hand, the Deere & Company informed a $150 million charge, 3M a $90 million charge and Caterpillar a $100 million charge.

Moreover, several companies said that they were taking those charges now, before the previous quarter ended, to meet the terms with accounting rules. However, some of the company reviewers said that the companies’ fast response to the legislation of health was target at pushing the administration to cancel the prerequisite.

In addition, James A. Klein, the president of the American Benefits Council, summoned the prerequisite as a serious error that is having damaging and unmotivated consequences. In the other hand, the officials of White House reasoned out the prerequisite, saying it was an intentional effort to withdraw what they said was a remarkably charitable tax excuse.

Furthermore, they said that the general health care prerequisite would save businesses for more than $150 billion over the next ten years by decreasing health care expansion. Linda Douglass, the communications director for the White House Health Reform Office said that they are convince that the benefits are going to strengthen and increase the bottom line of the businesses.
