Republicans seeking to regain control of the House of Representatives in November election promised to cut expenditure and prevent “job-killing tax hikes” in a campaign strategy set to be revealed on Thursday.
The strategy suggests that the federal spending must be reduced to the 2008 levels; even though with huge exemptions, and finishing government direction of mortgage powerhouses Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
Their extensive-ranging “Pledge to America” also calls for stronger border security, which will put accused terrorists on trial in military rather than civilian courts and cancelling President Barack Obama’s milestone and not-so-popular revamp of the health care system.
In addition, House Republican leader John Boehner said to reporters next to a private meeting of Senate Republicans on it that the agenda was generated by the American people, it came by hearing the voices of the American people, and that is their agenda.
Although Obama is not likely to sign many, if there have any, of the suggested reforms into law, they set indicators in what is definite to be a harsh battle if Republicans can regain control of the House from his fellow Democrats for the last two years of his term as president.
Meanwhile, many opinion surveys have forecasted Republicans can possibly win control of the House of the Representatives in the November 2 election in the middle of the voter’s rage at Washington on a 9.6 prevent unemployment rate and a record federal shortage.
However, a senior aide for Obama threatened that drawing back on federal expenses very soon could damage the improving economy and unnerve financial markets.
Furthermore, Austan Goolsbee, chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisers said on early Wednesday that if people try to tighten their belts right now, he believes that people will shock market in a very significant way.
