A brand new show titled “No Ordinary Family” premieres on ABC on Tuesday night.

ABC has finally started giving their last line up for the fall season premieres. As a start, “No Ordinary Family” premieres on Tuesday night, September 28, 2010. No Ordinary Family is an American sci-fi TV series that features the usual American family who got extraordinary abilities after their plane crash in the Amazon River. This TV series will run an hour every Tuesday at 8 P.M. ET/PT.

In this TV series, Michael Chiklis will play as Jim Powell, a police officer who has super-strength and has the ability to jump as high as tall building. Furthermore, it is Jim who insisted that he together with his family should go on a vacation that ended up on a plane crash to Amazon River.

Then there’s Julie Benz, she will portray the character of Jim’s wife, Stephanie Powell. Stephanie is a scientist with super speed. Kay Panabaker will play as Daphne Powell who has the ability to read others’ thought. Lastly, JJ Powell, portray by Jimmy Bennett, is a teenage boy with magnificent intelligence.

Together, the Powell family will learn how to use their special abilities to cope up with their normal living like it was before the plane crash accident. They will also track down the reason behind their mysterious powers.

Among the casts are Tate Donovan as Mitch McCutcheon; Romany Malco as George St. Cloud; Christina Chang as Det. Yvonne Cho; Autumn Reeser as Katie Andrews; Josh Stewart as Watcher; and Stephen Collins as Dr. Dayton King. They will be joining the Powells in their daily living as they start learning to use their abilities and bond as a family, as one.

It seems like ABC has brought a television series that can be compared to the animated film, “The Incredible”.

International Business Machines (IBM) plans to buy Blade Network Technologies to compete with Cisco and Hewlett-Packard (HP) in data center switching.

The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed but according to IBM, it expects to acquire Blade Network in the fourth quarter.

IBM is currently strengthening its data center offerings while Oracle and HP expands their businesses in corporate computing. Blade Network, a privately held company whose technology transmit data to and from severs in data centers, makes switches that links storage, servers and networks in data centers.

The announcement of IBM is the third acquisition of the company this month after the purchase of OpenPages, software maker, for an unknown sum and a $1.67 billion deal for Netezza, storage-analytics maker.

The deal between IBM and Blade Network will help the company compete to its rivals as they tie networking gears with data centers. Last April, HP acquired 3Com for almost $2.7 billion to strengthen its data center networking. Cisco Systems, the largest maker of networking equipment in the world, released its first blade servers last year, putting it in the data-center market and declaring a competition against IBM and HP.

According to a statement of Vikram Mehta, chief executive officer of Blade Networks, in a blog post on the website of the company, the news today is a very good result for their customers and for the employees of blade that are really working hard to help the company.

According to Brian White, Ticonderoga Securities analyst, Juniper will really benefit from the deal made by IBM. He said that it may allow Juniper and IBM to work more closely in the networking domain. IBM expands into the networking world so there is a big possibility that Juniper Networks will combine forces with IBM.

On the statement it said that the conference of the Workers Party of Korea will held in Pyongyang this coming September 28 for electing their supreme leadership body.

This statement was released to end the speculations about the meeting precise date, after it was been delayed for several times already.

Sacha Baron Cohen signs to portray renowned Queen lead singer Freddie Mercury in a forthcoming movie Deadline New York.

Sacha Noam Baron Cohen is a British comedian and actor famous for his representation of three unusual characters Ali G, Brüno and Borat. Due to Cohen’s brilliant works, he has been recognized by several award giving bodies. Now, another role will be portrayed by him and this time, it is the music legend Queen’s lead singer Freddie Mercury.

According to reports, Cohen has finally signed to portray Freddie Mercury in Deadline New York. Cohen will not be parachuting as he did during the MTV Music Awards.

Production Company GK Films signaled the creation of this film. GK Films appointed Peter Morgan to write the scripts. As for Mercury’s remaining band mates, this film has their full support to honor Mercury. Mercury passed away due to an HIV/AIDS-related disease in 1991.

UN claims that cases of HIV infections in countries of Sub Saharan Africa notably reduced, making them leaders in the global decline.

A drop of 25% in news cases of HIV infection was recognized in the 22 countries in the world’s most affected as reported by the UNAids.

African countries like Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Zimbabwe, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia and Ethiopia lead the global reduction of HIV cases.

Michel Sidibe, UNAids executive director stated in an interview that the world is now making moves to reach the sixth Millennium Development Goal (MDG6) of halting and reversing the spread of HIV/Aids by 2015.

Sidibe also added that the world is now seeing hope for the first time where HIV has taken away dreams.

According to UNAids, factors that may have helped in this progress were the use of condoms amid adults over the last five years, more number of young people who are delaying their sexual activities and more people do not have sexual partners.

Communities are now also more open in considering circumcision, which was according to UNAids, lessens the possibility of transfer of infection.

The UNAIDS report informs that South Africa increased its efforts to achieve universal access to HIV avoidance, management, care and maintenance.

UNAids reported that countries like China also showed great dedication in the eradication of HIV.  China’s sentinel surveillance revealed that 71.5% of China’s injectable drug addicts are now using sterile syringes as compared against 40.5% in 2007.

However, reports also showed that HIV cases among the countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia and along with gay men in developed countries are increasing.

UN recommends that national government should allot budget of their government revenue on HIV.

The UN is now calling for a greater investment in HIV/AIDS infection where reports claimed a $10 billion shortage last 2009.
